Enough With Boring Family Vacation – This New Punta Cana Attraction Is A Must Do If You Want To Have More Fun!
The name should say it all already.
RAD Park stands for REAL ACTION DAILY.
This is a brand new water park that opened in October of 2017 behind San Juan Shopping Center, near Down Town Punta Cana.
The super friendly owner, William, and his professional staff offer multiple activities on the man mad lakes with focus and extra attention on family sports tourism here in the Dominican Republic.
You have done already tours and excursions to see more of Punta Cana and want to do something else with your family than just the regular entertainment program of your all inclusive hotel?
Than this is the right thing for you!
Everybody is invited to come here to have fun and an awesome time, locals and guests alike.
You find a huge variety of activities to try out, no matter if you are a newbie to these sports or you are a sports enthusiast that seeks fun and excitement while staying here with your best mates and family.
We have been invited to have a look around and wanted to share our fantastic experience with our followers and guests.
What can I do in Rad Park Punta Cana?
There are up to 15 activities available.
Wake Lake – when purchasing this pass you have access for 2 hours to the professional wake lake with new cable pulling you clockwise, 5 poles, many obstacles , 3 different kickers, many sliders for more riding fun. You can rent water-ski with two or a single one (wake skate), knee boards and wake boards with professional bindings. Safety equipment like neoprene vests and helmets are included as well. So you just have to pack your shorts and off you go.
Classes and Private Lessons are available at an additional cost of US $ 15.00 and are worth the extra!
We have been watching a Dov and his son Noah from Canada, that came here, staying at Hard Rock Hotel in Punta Cana and they made it look easy.
After a few rounds on the practice lake they were able to go for the big one and they said:
“It was so much fun. We didn’t think we were able to stand up and really ride the boards. The trainers are very nice and professional. They are so patient and give a lot of helpful tips. We would definitely say it is a must do when coming to Punta Cana.”
Play Lake – You find a 6 meter tower from where you can jump off into the lake, a really challenging inflatable obstacle course and the blob catapult.
This is basically a hug air filled cushion, where you sit on one end, while two of the staff members or your friends jump from the tower onto the other end so you get catapulted high up in the air.
Lots of fun with huge splash factor. On the same lake you can practice Stand Up Paddle Boarding.
There is an infinity pool with kids section that is not that deep and a fountain area where the little ones can run through and have some fun on their own.
On the property you find volley ball nets and soccer tables and well as you can use the ping pong and pool tables at the restaurant, that you can use while waiting for the more active members of your group to finish their activities.
If you want to stay here get an “all access pass” that allows you to use all of the activities during 3 hours.
A must do if you travel with kids is the donut ride, where they pull you on an inflated seat high speed, so that you have the feeling you are flying, definitely lots of fun!
The price of US $ 65.00 for locals and US $ 90.00 for foreign guests (including transport) does not include food and drinks at the restaurant.
Lockers to store your private belongings while at the park are available at no extra charge.
Are food and drinks available at Rad Park?
There is a cool new restaurant called “Chooza” and the “Shaka Grill” that offer great juicy burgers and an awesome variety of fresh tacos and really tasty fruit juices and cocktails.
There are many seats and tables available overlooking the lake and the activities.
This is a great place for kid’s birthday parties or family gatherings of you are looking for some fun things to do in Punta Cana.
Prices are very reasonable and the staff, even though they are new are very friendly and try their best to make sure you have a great time.
Great Plus: there are screens located over the bar that allow you to watch sports and games while enjoying delicious food.
How to get to RAD Park Punta Cana?
This is super easy. There is actually a free shuttle from San Juan shopping center available from almost all hotels in Punta Cana and you can combine your stay with a quick shopping tour through the mall.
The taxi cost you between US $ 30.00 from most hotels in Bavaro and Cabeza de Torro and around US $ 50.00 when you stay in one of the hotels in Cap Cana, Punta Cana or Uvero Alto.
There is even a local bus (Guagua) that is stopping just right in front of Jumbo, the big super market and from there it is a 5 minutes’ walk down to the water and action park.
You can organize transport also directly with the park, when calling for a reservation or book through your representative at the hotel.
When does RAD Park Punta Cana open?
The park opens every day from Monday until Sunday from 11 in the morning until 6 in the afternoon.
If you want to avoid the crowded days, come during the week and you will have the park almost for yourself, not that it ever feels full, because there is so much space.
On weekends you will be able to mix and mingle with locals that found a new activity to do on their days off. You can sneak a peek and watch how the pros are doing it and get one or the other tip and see some tricks to have more fun.
Our overall experience at Rad Park Punta Cana:
We loved it! The staff is super friendly, they teach you the basics and accompany you throughout so you get the full experience!
The park is relatively new but the team is constantly improving. Once the palm trees in the gardens have fully grown and the trees provide a little bit more shade, this will be one of the best places to go in Punta Cana if you are looking for an action filled and super fun day out with your friends and family.
We will be definitely be back for more.
