Our team building program is designed to be flexible and to cater to the needs of your company and delegates and we are more than happy to accommodate any special requests that you might have.
“Our Team building activities are not only designed for adults, children can take part in them too!
The earlier you instill these values, the easier they’re used later in life! It is essential that children build individual talents and skills, but working together is equally important. We use our group activity games to encourage teamwork.”
Here are the 10 reasons why YOUR family or company should considering a team activity while visiting Dominican Republic
-
1. To enhance team morale
We spend a fair portion of our lives at work, complying to rules, policies and regulations and for most, we have to be serious. Team building events enable staff to have fun, break up routines and enhance morale.
-
2. To encourage fun in the workplace
A well-structured team building program reinforces that work can and should be fun and rewarding.
-
3. To send a message of value
As most team building activities are fun, away from the workplace and non work-specific, they show your team and family that you value and appreciate them and each other
-
4. To reward staff
A fun team event is a popular way of recognizing your team for achieving good results, recording a milestone, or reaching your personal/team goals
-
5. To observe your team under specific stresses
Team building programs can provide a learning environment where all team members are required to deal with new and varying stresses. This will help identify strengths and skills in each staff or family member that you may not have known beforehand as well as areas for further training.
-
6. To address specific team issues
Team building programs can be tailored to address specific areas that your team may need to develop in a non-threatening environment. For example, interpersonal communication, team leadership, strategic planning and even new product development
-
7. To reinforce company values
Team building programs are a great way of reinforcing company values. There has been an increasing trend in companies using team building as part of their corporate social responsibility programs, and undertaking activities that provide a benefit for a charity or cause.
-
8. To deliver a unique dinner experience
Many organisations want ways to turn a standard corporate or conference dinner function into something unique, memorable and entertaining for guests or delegates, as the event throughout the day creates ice breaker situations and is definitely something that will be talked about long after
-
9. To challenge belief systems
Programs can be designed to challenge individual and team beliefs against company values or codes in specific areas such as integrity, loyalty, profitability and honesty.
-
10. To interact with other cultures and personalities
Team building activities can be a unique way to entertain, network and plan with company staff and family members in a fun and relaxed environment.
To sum it up:
The benefits of team building can be diverse as these 10 reasons highlight. Ultimately, a good team building program will come down to the reason for doing it, so it can be tailored to achieve this objective.
In the end though, teams that know and understand each other will perform better than teams that don’t.
Find here what we came up with, so YOU can experience the REAL Outback challenge!
Explore the Wild
This challenge has been created for bigger groups that want to be part of an active adventure experience. It can integrated in the normal stops of our Half Day and Full Day Outback Safari tour. The catalog includes 15 fun activities that the group is able to select from.
We created a fun way to learn about culture and customs of this island, work and communicate with one another in order to reach each challenges goal.
You will find it very interesting to find out each other’s strengths.
“Every Day is an Adventure…and with our team building activities they just got more fun.”
Taino Challenge
Another very actively challenging activity is this one that can be totally integrated in the schedule of our Full Day Outback Safari.
By winning quizzes throughout the tour the teams collect advantages, which could be either knowledge or material that will help them in the end, for the final challenge at the beach:
Build a Taino hut with bamboo and palm leaves, make fire and select one team member to be the new chief of your tribe, find a name for your team. This fun and exciting activity is for medium to big size groups. Communication skills and working together are the key for success.
“By the end of the day- everybody is a winner!”
Give back and catch a smile
This program includes different social projects that can be either integrated into one of our tours like the Jungle Rally tour or Go Yuma or organized as a separate event. Get involved with painting a class room or house, visit local communities and schools.
The projects vary and can be coordinated to fit the needs of each group that comes to the Dominican Republic and joins us.
Sponsor a uniform
Schooling is free for kids in the Dominican Republic, but uniforms and shoes are mandatory and have to be bought by the parents. This is not an easy task and lots of children are not attending, for the reasons that the family cannot afford them. Outback Adventures sponsors a lot of different schools, but with your help we would have the possibility to help many more.
A school uniform costs approximately US$50.00 each and each pair of shoes is US$15.00.
You will be able to hand them out to each child who is in need. It’s a wonderful experience to give back. In return you’ll receive big smiles and take fantastic memories to take home.
Backpack Filled with Supplies
These children love to study and sometimes all they’re missing are basic materials. Part of a donation program could be the delivery of backpacks filled with everything a kid could need to get straight A’s! You can decide what you want to include. We recommend notebooks, pencils, crafting material. Costs can vary depending on the budget.
Food Baskets
Many families struggle to earn enough money to support their whole family. We are in close contact with communities in need and would be happy to help you organize a food drive.
For example: canned food, rice and beans, drinking water etc.
Depending on the budget, we recommend a cost per basket of approximately US$20.00. Every participant could receive a basket or bag to be able to hand it out to a local family in need.
Group sizes can be up to 200 people as there are Haitian communities with around 200 families. We would organize a list names ahead of time so that every family gets assigned one basket in order assure that everybody who receives is really in need.
Bundle of joy-Baby Baskets
As mentioned in the project above, many families struggle to make ends meet. It is often hard for them to raise small babies and children in a safe environment and insure that they are receiving proper nutrition and hygiene.
We are directly in contact with these communities and getting a listing of children and babies would be no problem.
We can put together small packs with baby clothing (varying for boys and girls of different ages) bottles and other basic supplies.
A budget of only US$10 could make a huge difference in a new family’s life.
Mini-Golf Putting Solutions
Get in the giving spirit as Outback Adventures leads you in this team building event that MAKES A DIFFERENCE! This is a great way to bring your team together while fulfilling corporate social responsibility and philanthropy.
Your team can make a difference in Child Hunger in Dominican Republic. Build camaraderie and feel a sense of adding value by directly helping the community and filling up pantry shelves. Teams create a mini-golf course with cans and boxes of nutrition directly on the beach of Macao. This is a charity team building event that contributes to your local food bank and provides a direct, tangible benefit from which your team will reap huge rewards!
Teams are challenged to construct a “creative” miniature golf hole from food cans and boxed goods in different sizes and colors that will later be donated to a charity/food bank. Each hole must reflect their own team, company, or theme of the meeting/event. On completion, teams play the course!!!
Before donation, winners are chosen for most creative hole as well as lowest overall score for play.
Once the tournament is complete, groceries are boxed and presented to a local food bank.
“Food for the “Fair-way” of Life”
Go Fly a Kite
Recapture the child inside as you participate in a challenging kite building and flying contest.
Teams are challenged to contract a creative kite while incorporating their group, company into the design and decoration. And… the kite must be able to fly!
The process is grounded in both the reality and uncertainty of the task and forces of nature.
Kites and teams will be judged on most creative kite, best incorporation of the company or team directly by the kids of the school.
Then the fun begins as teams are pitted against each other as their artistic endeavor takes flight—they will be judged on: best crash, fastest ascent and more!
Marvelous Mural/Quilt Art Project
Participants work in teams to “design” a piece of a Mural or Quilt that when assembled represents their group, products, company or another theme. Each team gets 1-2 squares to design about their theme and/or company.
Deciding on the theme of the quilt or mural is part of the challenge.
The Outback Team-builder works with your teams on color palette and technique—but the best part is the creativity of your participants. We will guide your creativity, provide the materials, and facilitate the event.
The “quilt or mural” is then assembled by your teams and can be displayed back at the workplace or donated to the school, hospitals or other sites.
This team building event involves creativity, leadership, strategic thinking, sequenced planning and communication.
Mural Making is about Process, as much as art. Facilitators work with the teams to encourage them to think BIG.
The final product is a visual documentation of your team’s understanding and awareness of the theme they have selected and the process through which they went. Variations: Can be done with mixed media including found objects (recycle, reuse).
Goal: Separate parts that add up to one vision!
THE BIG PICTURE!
Kids Scavenger Hunt
We use this fun and exciting group activity to encourage teamwork among the smallest and their families, and the indoor classroom scavenger hunt its just perfect to be integrated at any of our tours that stop at a local school, like the Outback Safari Full Day.
We have short list of items, such as pencils, eraser and chalk and we will place the children and adults in groups and send one child from each group on the scavenger hunt.
The other adults in the group can help by shouting out the item’s possible location.
When the first child finds her item, it’s the next child’s turn and then the next until they’ve found the entire list. It makes it a bit more difficult as you have to communicate in Spanish.
Therefore we prepared cards with the most common word you need and there translation. Working together is the key! The team that collects the fastest all items wins.
All materials brought for this event will be donated later to the school and used in the class room.(globes, books, maps, pencils, rulers etc.)
Pack it yourself project
Participants work together to “design” a piece of art with the children.
Take a cotton straw string bag and get creative, using coloring pens, glitter and glue and design a wonderful back pack.
When finished fill the bags with much needed school supplies for each kid, like pencils, scissor, notebooks, rubber etc. and hand them out. This crafty work can be done as well on masks for the kids.
Project Recycled Runway
Project Recycled Runway is a fun competition that taps into the creativity and resourcefulness of your group. Teams are given the opportunity to design and construct outfits, walk down the fashion runway, and create a pitch for their fashions that ties back to the goals and objectives and theme of their meeting/event.
Participants are the “designers” as they work in teams under time pressure using newspaper, cardboard, garbage bags, cloth, recycled accessories, glue, scissors, staplers, and duct tape.
Teams are judged on quality, style and ingenuity, as well as model ability and spokesperson’s explanation. There is never a right answer in fashion, and the final show is always surprising and entertaining.
Winning designs/teams will be judged by their peers and “celebrity” judges (the kids at school).
Project Recycled Runway is a team building activity that is varied, collaborative, creative and engaging, generating team spirit.
“Which Team will win Project Recycled Runway? And which teams will be out?”
Beach Clean up
Vast amounts of plastic debris litter the world’s oceans causing all manner of harm, and most of this debris comes from land. Our beaches are collecting spots for trash from city streets and highways. Trash travels – via inland waterways, storm drains, sewers, and on the wind, and eventually ends up on the coast. If not removed, this debris will end up in the ocean.
Beach cleanups are a last line of defense – to prevent debris from causing harm to our oceans, to wildlife, to our coastal economies.
Equipped with glows and garbage bags we will clean up marked areas on the beach.
To make this activity in a team challenge, we will challenge each team with recycling questions and see how good they are in separating the waste.
“This is a Green Team Building Event!”
Community Service Garden: Project Green Thumb
Outback Adventure team builder will lead participants through a hands-on Green Gardening Team building event in which they work together to add trees, shrubs and flowers to a rural school.
For Project Green Thumb, Outback Adventures will provide participants with all the tools, plants, and soil they will need to “Green the Community.”
The Goal of Project Green Thumb is to establish a community service project that builds relationships through hands-on activities to establish community gardens, provide technical assistance, and provide a valuable service to the community.
Consider this for your Earth Day Celebration… or any time for Community Service.
“Give Back. Go Green!”
